Mother’s Day is celebrated to honor mothers and the sacrifices mothers made for their children. Mother’s Day is to reflect, express, and show, gratitude to the mothers who help shape us to who we are.
Mother’s Day can also show how much we care for them and show endless love to them.
Celebrating Mother’s Day does not mean it has to be your birth mother because there are so many people in your life to help you become the best you. Mother’s Day can help us understand how hard they worked to provide and to let them know how their sacrifice was appreciated.
Who started Mother’s Day? The inspiration for what we now know as Mother’s Day came about in the 19th century by Ann Reeves Jarvis, who organized Mother’s Day Work Clubs to improve sanitary conditions and lower infants’ mortality rates.
Years later, her daughter, Anna Jarvis held a ceremony in memory of her mother. Through the years, she fought tirelessly to make Mother’s Day a recognized holiday in the early 20th century.
This day is very important to me because I love showing the people involved with my growth how much I love them and how grateful I am. So, if you have the support team, like I have, make sure you acknowledge them on this Mother’s Day.
