My memorable experience
By Ezekiel Newby/Young Scholar
At the end of my fourth-grade year, I applied for the chance to be accepted to the Center for Innovation (C.F.I.).

The unique Math-Science Magnet School is available only to AISD students and is located at McMurry University. To have a chance of being accepted, good grades and attendance records were required.
After months of waiting, I finally received an acceptance e-mail!
One day in class, we built a 3-foot-tall cardboard tower for marbles to roll down that had loops and spirals, making the marbles speed up as they raced along.
We also went on field trips, one being to the Dallas Museum. There were sections explaining space, dinosaurs, history, physics, and more.
The experience was amazing, and now, even my younger brother (who is in fourth grade) plans on applying. I was so excited for him to have a chance at this opportunity, and, hey, I may get to see my old teachers again through his acceptance!
