JUST MY THOUGHTS

By Rusty Crain
It seems the time has come for even the most liberal publications, tv and radio networks, and internet sites to recognize the health conditions, both physical and mental, of Joe Biden. Those people are trying to run and hide from the obvious responsibility of their part in the secrets of Biden’s conditions for the past three and a half years. Some of those people choose to still protect Joe and encourage him to stay in the race for POTUS in 2024 mainly because with him out of office, it means they will lose their job also.
Personally, I feel a bit sorry for Biden. He’s being pushed to stay in this race not only by those in his party who fear his loss, but more importantly, by his family. His only remaining living son, Hunter now sits in on all his planning meetings even though he holds no position in the administration. Some suggest Hunter is there because he’s aware he will be sentenced to prison if his dad doesn’t remain in office. His wife, Jill is the real deal maker in the re-election bid simply because she isn’t interested in losing the “First Lady” position. The consensus is Biden is the pawn those people are using to remain free, employed, and happy. There is no regard for what’s best for Joe Biden. That’s sad.
I’ve mentioned before in my pieces that I am not a Republican, a Democrat, a Tea-Partier, or a Socialist. I’m an American, a VietNam veteran, and very proud to say it. We, the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines didn’t lose the war in VietNam, the Pentagon did. We have to hold our heads high with pride that we followed orders and did our job to the best of our ability.
Having said that, my personal voting strategy is using common sense and my heart. I love this country and I want the very best for it to succeed. I see it as tragic that the rest of the world views this country’s issues and thinks “there are 330 million of them and this is the best two they have to choose to lead their country?!”
Here’s what I know: we now have nearly 12 million foreigners who have crossed our borders ILLEGALLY who live here drawing benefits such as housing, food, clothing, health insurance, education free of charge. And certain politicians in OUR country want those people to have voting rights. I can look around certain areas in Abilene and see people standing on street corners asking for money, food, etc. We have veterans, like my own brother in Virgina, trying to find housing. He’s a military veteran also. So let me get this straight. We can provide for people who are here who don’t belong here and have never paid a dime in taxes but we can’t provide for the people who wore the uniform, willing to sacrifice it all to protect this country? Why does something like that NOT sound like common sense to me- or settle my heart. My vote has been settled. And as Forest Gump has said, “that’s all I have to say about that”.
