The Express Yourself Coffee House
Back in the 1960s at the University of Wyoming, several of the college youth groups got together to form a coffee house in the basement of a local church. No entrance fee, free music and poetry from volunteers and coffee and desserts available.2015 – Abilene, Texas and the Unity Church is hosting the Express Yourself Coffee House. It has featured Jamison Priest, Tony Barker and House Band #2 with guest artists Sarah Starkey on flute and volunteers from the audience just like 55 years ago. No admission fee, a tip jar for the artists, Keurig coffee and tea for donations. It’s not every Saturday night but you can check on the Unity website for dates.
