We Sometimes Forget

Noone knew where or when the sign remembering a man had gone. Most of Abilene no longer remembers the manhimself. The children grown to manhoodwill always remember the man who got the baseball fields created, who alwayshad an extra glove so a child without one could play and could be found waitingin the front of your house when your mother could not afford the gas or eventhe time to take you to the ball field. But 15 years after his death, the sign meant to remember him was goneand no one knew where. It could havestayed missing and never been missed except it was a comfort to his wife. She loves going to the field and placing her hand on the signremembers the man. {{more}} Nowthanks to friends and family, the sign is back and a plaque is planned to tell his story. May others walk in his footsteps and bringchildren to play and grow into men.
