“Knowing Who You Are”

“KnowingWho You Are” training was held on Friday and Saturday, July 27th and28th at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church located at 701 S. PioneerDrive. The training was put on by the HHSC Center for Elimination ofDisproportionality & Disparities. It was supported by Children’s ProtectiveServices, and hosted by Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. “KnowingWho You Are” is owned by Casey Family Programs and being facilitatedthroughout the State of Texas. It is a two-day experiential workshop and coverssuch topics as building blocks to a healthy racial and ethnic identity,communication about racial stereotypes, courageous conversations and developingaction steps for overcoming barriers. This session was a cross-systemstraining done in an effort to promote support for racial and ethnicidentity in our local agencies to serve all groups with equality, and toprepare our community folks for success and positive outcomes.
