Agent Provocateurs

•Agent: a person who manages business,financial, or contractual matters for an actor, performer, or writer. ·       Provocateur: a person who provokes trouble, causesdissension, or the like; agitator.             Mostof you may not know this, unless you read our history, but one of the ways theBlack Liberation movement was stunted and ultimately destroyed was by theenemy’s use of a tool called an agent provocateur. This was usually a personwho had been apprehended by the police for a petty crime and then the lawenforcer would threaten the maximum punishment for the person if they refusedto cooperate. The person would most likely have some addiction, or other habitthat they could not stand to give up, not even for a few days in the countyjail. Thus, knowing this about their victim they would gain leverage to forcecompliance and then employ that person to act on their behalf to gaininformation or cause confusion amongst the group that they desired to destroy. {{more}}             This practice was perfected by thelate 60s, although it goes back to the early 1900s, and became most notoriouslyknown as a result of the case against Dhuruba bin Wahhad in NYC when knowledgeof a government conspiracy came to light called COINTELPRO. CounterintelligenceProgram.        This program wasultimately the force behind the death of Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, Huey P. Newton,and ultimately the downfall of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. Youdon’t know this history because ‘they’ don’t want you to know it. You canfigure out who the ‘they’ is by watching any C-SPAN program on Congress. Theruling elite of this country has never wanted to share its power with the underclasses,and I am inclined to believe that they will never concede without a demand,backed by some similarly imposing force on the part of the people.             However, the purpose of the writingof this article is to remind you, the reader of these ploys that our historicalenemy will use on us to throw us off the course we are on. In the early 70smany Panthers went to prison, remaining leadership became like chickens withouta head, running around trying to get their leaders out of jail. Their effortsbecame so frantic that they lost sight of their initial vision for theirexistence: “We want land, food, clothing and shelter.”             If you think that this time ofgovernmental chicanery, deception and guile has ‘gone with the wind’ into the annals of the past you are sadly mistaken. I am convincedthese tactics of divide and conquer are alive and well, even here in this smalltown. Whenever you have some few who hold the reins of power, and have done sofor decades, what reasons would they have to say, “Hey, you know what, we aregoing to play nice and just give some of these poor, weak, and misused people apiece of the action. I mean, look at it, haven’t we gotten enough.”             If you cannot see that scenarioplaying out, you are a fool. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts,absolutely, it has been written in times of old.                         So, here today, we have a major pushto bring about change, not only from the Whitehouse but also from the outhouse,here in the outpost of good old Abilene, Texas. They are thinking, “What can wedo?” The answer is, “What has worked in the past?” The reply, “Divide andconquer!”             Have you taken some time to goonline and look up Mugshots.com?              On this website you will see many familiarfaces that I am sure you will know. People who have recently been arrested, butthe one problem is, how are they broke and out of the jail so fast and theydon’t have bail money. Wow! I am not calling every person arrested an agent,that would be unwise; nevertheless, you should be able to see thereasonableness of my point. Some of these people are being asked to work withlaw enforcement. I know this for a fact because some of them have come to me indesperation seeking my help.             My question is toward what end, asafer Abilene? Or is their tactic self-seeking in that they now have so manysnitches on the payroll that they are ensured a ready pawn whenever theirpurposes suit the need for one.             As an example, think about this- “Hey,you! Come here.  Go to this Stevenson Parkwhen they are doing Juneteenth. Yeah, I know we used you last year, they won’tknow, they don’t read their history. Start a fight and see how many people youcan get involved. You want to cause them embarrassment. You want to distractthem from their primary purpose. You want to create fear in them. Do your bestto knock them down morally and I promise you, boy, I have you covered. You haveyour get out of jail free ticket with us.” “Ludicrous!” you might say. Well,history is best prepared to reward its researcher.             This year we had a five daycelebration and it went without a flaw on all four days, so far as violence orany act of misbehavior is concerned and then amazingly on the last day, boom, adispute arises, just after the music was turned off and people were clearing thepark. The timing is too coincidental. Not only did the incident occur, but alsoit seemed like not so far after that we had what seemed like every officer onduty at the park.             Couldit be that there are elements amongst us that don’t really want to see us havea successful program for black people, one that emphasizes peace and unity andfreedom? That is not too far fetched for me to conceive of being possible. Howabout you?             Call me a conspiracy theorist ifyou’d like but I know my history and those specific topics discussed amongst broke,low-income, underemployed, unemployed, some hopeless, or at the leastuneducated and if educated, definitely not prosperous people, have the enemythinking, ‘these people can’t be allowed to get on the same page.’ Who dares toshare information that, if listened to could free us from the bondage toignorance and the shackles of drugs?             If we decided to turn all of ourenergy burned up now on useless and nonproductive quarrelling, into an earnestdesire for change, who do you think would stand the most to lose? We have to dosome homework.             I want to encourage those of you whohave your eyes wide open, not to be deterred. We are on the right track; wehave the momentum to make real change in our city a possibility. This is aprocess not just an event; theactions we engage in today are designed to have an affect on those generationsthat have yet to be born. That is how our historical enemies of progress havethought.             They lost the Civil War, but wagedand underground campaign of terror with the KKK. They saw the progress of theCivil Rights movement and took over the Senate and Congress. They feared therise of Obama and created the Tea Party. Do you get the picture? Our enemiesare never at rest or content with the way things are. It’s like chess, we moveand they move. We take a piece; they regroup for an assault. Unfortunately,some of our people will always be used a pawns in the hands of the oppressors.We would not have been slaves in a strange land had it not been for thoseAfrican collaborators.
