Servants would go home to see their families, bringing cakes and sweetsto their moms. This custom was called “going a-mothering”. Eachmother would receive a simnel-cake andmothers would give a blessing to their children. ·Mother Earth is also known as “Terra Firma”. The Swedish Red Cross sells small plastic flowers on the daysleading up to Mother’s Day.
