Montserrat Marquez Toops

Known as Montse, passed away on May 1, 2024 at her home in Abilene, Texas at the age of 92. Montse had donated her body to Texas Tech University for education and research. A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:00am at the Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.

Montse was born in Barcelona, Catalan Spain on February 4, 1932 to Leopoldo & Aurelia Marquez. Dale & Montse married May 8,1961. Dale was stationed at Dyess AFB; they had four children. She was involved in PTA, Cub Scout, the Republican Party, & enjoyed square dancing, reading, & watching old movies. She loved to sew and made many wonderful garments, & did alterations for many years.

Montse was preceded in death by her husband, & her parents. Survivors include children: Isabella & husband Rob, Leopoldo & wife Railynn, Jordi & wife Cindy, Francina & husband Michael. Grandchildren: Anthony, Megan, Alexander, Kasey, Catherine, Randall, Robert Anthony, Conner, a great grandchild, & sister Maria Dolores. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Meals on Wheels
